Scheana Shay memorialized her recent miscarriage with a simple but heartfelt tattoo.
The “Vanderpump Rules” star, 35, unveiled her new ink — a poppy flower on her inner forearm — in a YouTube video last week, which was filmed by her boyfriend, Brock Davies.
In the clip, Shay walked fans through her collection of more than 20 tattoos, sharing the inspiration and story behind each. “Some of them have meaning, some of them were just a fun memory. But overall, I don’t regret any of them,” she explained in the video’s description.
“The last one I got most recently was to symbolize the baby we just lost,” Shay said in the clip, referencing her new flower design. “[My doctors] said it was the size of a poppy seed, and I really like poppy flowers. And I decided to get one right here to remember.”
Added the star, “I think it’s probably my favorite one.”
Shay broke the news about her miscarriage in an episode of her “Scheananigans with Sheana Shay” podcast in late June, describing the loss as “devastating.”
In a YouTube video in early July, the TV personality admitted that it’s “really, really hard” seeing others who are currently pregnant; Shay’s former “Vanderpump Rules” co-star Stassi Schroeder announced she was expecting in June.
“Seeing a few of my friends pregnant right now and knowing I was going to be there with them and now I’m not,” Shay said in the tearful clip. “I didn’t know how bad I wanted this until I had a little taste of it and now it’s gone too soon.”
