Regis Philbin will be buried on the campus of the University of Notre Dame, his beloved alma mater, according to reports.

There will be a funeral service for the TV talk-show legend at the famed Catholic school’s Basilica of the Sacred Heart outside South Bend, Ind., followed by his burial in the university’s Cedar Grove Cemetery, Fighting Irish officials told WSBT-TV.

Philbin died in his sleep Friday at age 88.

The entertainer was the long-running host of ABC-TV’s morning talk-show “Live!” and of the night-time game hit “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.”

Philbin was a graduate of Notre Dame and frequently went back to visit the campus and area over the years — as well as gushed about the school whenever he could on TV.

“Regis regaled millions on air through the years, oftentimes sharing a passionate love for his alma mater with viewers,” the school’s president, the Rev. John Jenkins, tweeted in a statement over the weekend.

“He will be remembered at Notre Dame for his unfailing support for the University and its mission, including the Philbin Studio Theater in our performing arts center,” Jenkins said, referring to a $2.75 million donation the star gave to the project in 2001.

“He likewise was generous with his time and talent in support of South Bend’s Center for the Homeless and other worthy causes,” the school president added of Philbin.
