Tamar Braxton’s boyfriend, David Adefeso, has spoken out about her recent hospitalization following a suicide attempt.

Braxton, 43, was found at the Ritz Carlton Residences in Downtown Los Angeles by Adefeso on July 15.

“On behalf of Tamar Braxton, I want to thank her fans and the public for the ongoing thoughts and prayers,” Adefeso told The Blast in a statement. “Tamar is a beautifully talented woman, a devoted mother, a loving girlfriend, a dear sister and a special friend to countless people.”

Earlier this week, Page Six reported that the “Braxton Family Values” star had been moved to another hospital for “further evaluation and treatment” after she reportedly overdosed on prescription medication. Adefeso said she’s now receiving the “best available” treatment.

“This is an extremely difficult time for Tamar and her family as she navigates professional and personal struggles including her battle with depression,” his statement continued. “Tamar is currently receiving the best available medical attention to address those struggles and strengthen her mental health, and her family and I will remain by her side throughout her treatment.

“Mental health is a common issue, affecting 1 in 5 Americans,” he said. “Please continue to send prayers and hope as Tamar continues the path to recovery and ultimate happiness. We ask to please respect Tamar’s privacy, and her family’s privacy, during this important time of healing.”

Braxton has been visited by her sisters Towanda, Trina and Traci, and stars including Tiny Harris, Viola Davis, NeNe Leakes and Claudia Jordan have shown their support online.

Weeks before Braxton’s reported overdose, she sent WeTV bosses a letter, seen by Page Six, that claimed they made her suicidal for “destroying a great black family.”
