Alex Trebek’s memoir came out Tuesday, but the “Jeopardy!” host already has an update about his health.

In “The Answer Is … Reflections on My Life,” the 80-year-old host, who is currently battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer, wrote that he would stop treatment if it wasn’t working.

“I’m going to stick with this current protocol, then that’s it. If it doesn’t work I’ll probably stop treatment,” he wrote.

But on Wednesday, the Canadian-born television personality posted a statement on Twitter clarifying his words.

“That quote from the book was written BEFORE my current regimen, and I was going through some bad times,” Trebek wrote.

He explained that his current numbers are “very good,” but if that changes, he would resume chemotherapy rather than stopping all treatment.

“I apologize for any confusion, and want everyone to know that I am optimistic about my current plan, and thank them for their concern,” he concluded.

Trebek first announced his diagnosis in March 2019.

“Now, normally the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m going to fight this and I’m going to keep working and with the love and support from my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease,” he declared.
