Princess Beatrice finally has her happily ever after.

The British royal, 31, secretly married Italian property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a ceremony at Windsor Castle on Friday, but it’s been a bumpy road for the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

Initially, it seemed as if Beatrice, who is ninth in line to the throne, would marry American Uber executive Dave Clark. The pair dated for ten years and both of Beatrice’s parents were said to adore Clark, who was a fixture at royal family events and special occasions. The couple even ran the London marathon together in 2010.

They split in 2017, when, according to The Daily Beast, Beatrice gave her beau an ultimatum to propose or leave and he opted for the latter.

Just two months after their breakup Clark met American advertising executive Lynn Anderson. The two tied the knot in a glamorous resort in Puglia, Italy in 2018.

Clark’s lighting fast rebound wasn’t the first time Beatrice’s partners have made headlines, her first boyfriend was also the source of much controversy.

Paolo Liuzzo, her first publicly known boyfriend, was charged with manslaughter in 2002 over the death of a fellow student during a drunken brawl in the United States.

Liuzzo and Beatrice met through mutual friends and began dating in 2005 when she was 17, splitting a year later when reports of the manslaughter charges became known.

The charge of manslaughter was eventually reduced to assault and Liuzzo served a community sentence.

In 2009, Liuzzo was fined for a string of offenses including possession of cocaine while on vacation in Queensland, Australia.

Beatrice and Mozzi, 37, are long-time family friends, but began dating in October 2018 and got engaged the following September. They were set to marry in a glittering ceremony this May but it was canceled due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

The flame-haired royal has also become a stepmother. Mozzi has a son, Christopher, with former partner Dara Huang.
