Gia Gunn of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” fame believes COVID-19 and its resulting pandemic is a hoax.
“I think the whole mask thing is f–king ridiculous,” the reality star, 30, told fans via Instagram in a clip captured by Evan Ross Katz. “I honestly think this whole COVID-19 thing is a hoax.”
Gunn continued, “I think everybody who is, you know, taking precautions is cute and it’s definitely the thing to do, but I also think a lot of people are brainwashed. I think the more and more that we look around and see each other with masks on, the more influenced we are going to be to also put our masks on, which then to me, insinuates that everything is not ok.
“I’m here to tell you guys that I think things are more okay than the government is allowing you to think.”
Gunn competed during Season 6 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Season 2 of “The Switch Drag Race,” and Season 4 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars.”
Fans of the series immediately blasted the performer, warning her that her comments could be a danger to public health.
“you know I love & support you. Always have. I have a hard time getting behind this. People are dying, daily, worldwide. Please rethink what you put out into the universe. Even if this is your opinion, it’s extremely irresponsible for your fans. WEAR A MASK PEOPLE,” tweeted one fan, with another adding, “The 120,000+ dead Americans don’t agree with Gia. But okay girl. Act a fool.”
