That ugly face could be your big break.
A casting agency in New Zealand is looking for talent for Amazon’s “Lord of the Rings” series — but only “unusual” or “funny looking” wannabes.
“Do you have an overbite, face burns, long skinny limbs, deep cheekbones, lines on your face, acne scars, ears that stick out, bulbous or interesting noses, small eyes, big eyes, any deformities, Skinny faces, missing limbs?” BGT Actors Models & Talent asks in an ad.
The original pitch featured photos of ideal faces — even some used in US campaigns warning about the dangers of meth use — but was eventually taken down, the New Zealand Herald.
In a video attached to the current picture-free ad, agency founder Sarah Valentine said they are always looking for “character faces” for the Amazon series along with other shows.
“Wrinkles, teeth missing, wonky eye — no eye! — can you take your eye out? Have you got a burn scar?” she asked, saying they also want “androgynous” looks as well as those with missing limbs.
For those far too pretty, the agency also recommends tagging their “funky looking” friends.
New Yorkers need not apply, however — the agency says applicants have to be New Zealand residents.
Amazon’s “Lord of the Rings” shoot is set to resume in West Auckland next month after a long break over the coronavirus, an insider earlier told the Herald.
