Denise Richards and her family had a lot to celebrate on Sunday.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 49, revealed that her daughter Eloise, 9, is speaking and learned a new word just in time for Father’s Day.
“Happy Father’s Day to my dad you are the best dad ever. Thank you for always being there & being an amazing role model. I love you so much. And happy Father’s Day to my beautiful husband I can’t imagine a better father for our Eloise & step father for sami & lola. I love you so much. And the greatest gift Eloise being able to say ‘dad’ for the first time a month ago🙏🏻❤️,” she shared on Instagram.
The actress adopted Eloise in 2011 after welcoming her daughters Lola, 15, and Sam, 16, with ex-husband Charlie Sheen. She first opened up about Eloise’s chromosome disorder — a deletion in chromosome 8 — in 2019.
“She wasn’t able to sit up on her own for a very long time, and she didn’t start walking until she was 2, and that was with physical therapy,” she said.
“She can only say a handful of words and there are times when she feels like her age in understanding, and then other times where it feels she’s emotionally 3 years old,” Richards explained at the time. “It’s been challenging. I’m learning every day because they don’t really have a road map for her particular case.”
Richards also broke into tears while discussing the emotional road she took to get Eloise’s diagnosis during the “RHOBH” Season 9 reunion.
“It was really hard,” she said. “When I saw what was written on the medical report to get the blood test and all the testing done it was hard to see it in black and white.”
