Cristina Cuomo’s sister, Andrea Greeven Douzet, is selling disinfecting products, as brother-in-law by marriage, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, prepares to get NYC back to work.
Douzet sent an e-mail around the Hamptons on Tuesday from her Empire Global Ventures work account, hawking the little known Y2X Life Sciences brand. It has no Web presence other than its site, but Douzet — whose sister, Cristina, is married to CNN anchor Chris Cuomo — sent the note out offering to put people “in touch” with the manufacturers.
Without mentioning the brand name, she wrote: “I think this product could be a game changer for so many businesses to stay CLEAN & Covid free and welcome back people. This is completely non-toxic — can be used to spray a room with people IN the room. There are no deleterious effects to any surface.”
Y2X Life Sciences’ site lists Democrats Dick Gephardt and Matt Kennedy as advisers.
Cristina, who has a lifestyle blog, recently got caught in a clean scandal when she said she was bathing in Clorox amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Douzet said: “The company I work for, Empire Global Ventures, is a business development company that assists tech companies to grow and scale in new markets. Y2X Life Sciences is a client of EGV’s, EGV does not invest in companies.”
