The former pro basketball player tweeted his support for Union following her harassment complaint against NBC and Simon Cowell claiming the network and producers tried to silence her reports of racism while she was a judge on “America’s Got Talent.”

After NBC released a statement saying, “The allegation that anyone involved in this process threatened Ms. Union is categorically untrue,” and, “We took Ms. Union‘s concerns seriously and engaged an outside investigator who found an overarching culture of diversity on the show,” Wade spoke out.

“Y’all have deemed her a liar after months of trying to inform y’all of the issues in the work place and also make sure other employees of color that comes after her won’t have the same experiences,” Wade tweeted. “So instead of making sure your work environment is a a better place for everyone. Y’all have decided that she what? Made it all up because she lost a job? She’s a black women in Hollywood she has lost out on many jobs.”

Wade, 38, also claimed that his family has had some frightening experiences.

“When these negotiations started my house started being watched and my family started being followed,” he claimed. “My daughter couldn’t even go to swim class without us being trailed by people looking for answers. Well y’all have the answers and y’all still don’t wanna listen to them.”

On Thursday, Union, 47, filed her complaint which called NBC “a snake pit of racial offenses” that tried to silence her reports of allegedly racist incidents on set. It was filed with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing. Previously, she had accused NBC and “AGT” producers of firing her as a judge on the family-friendly show after she voiced complaints of racism on set.

Union was a judge on “AGT” in 2019 for one season.

At the time, Wade again stood up for Union.

As Page Six reported, in an external report surrounding the incident, investigators are believed to have said Union’s exit was based on a decrease in ratings, lack of chemistry between the judges and Union’s performance.

Last month, Union told Variety that she had struggled with her decision to speak out but felt compelled to do so.

“At the end of all this, my goal is real change — and not just on this show but for the larger parent company,” Union said. “It starts from the top down. My goal is to create the happiest, most high-functioning, inclusive, protected and healthy example of a workplace.”

NBC didn’t immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
