An NYC museum held a party Wednesday for famed artist Carmen Herrera’s 105th birthday — but we’re told Herrera was “somewhat annoyed” by the celebration.
“She says it’s not even her birthday,” Tony Bechara, artist and El Museo del Barrio’s chair, said on the Zoom bash. Not that Herrera knows exactly when her birthday is — we’re told her Cuban passport says it’s Sunday, but her US passport says it’s Saturday.
Herrera gave guests some advice: “For the first 100 years, eat red meat and drink Scotch,” Bechara relayed on her behalf. “Then switch to Champagne and a vegetarian diet.”
