Dorinda Medley is bettering herself with the help of Dr. Daryl Gioffre.

The “Real Housewives of New York” star, 55, first met the health coach, who’s also a chiropractor and an alkaline diet expert, through a friend, and while she let viewers in on one of their sessions during last week’s episode of the hit Bravo show, it was hardly their first session.

Page Six first reported that Medley and her then-boyfriend John Mahdessian met with Gioffre in July 2019. She and Mahdessian have since split, but she has kept Gioffre as a staple in her life, turning to him in one of her most trying times.

“Lucy [my dog] had died. My house was literally underwater. I was kind of in the midst of not knowing what I was doing with my relationship with John after seven years. I broke my rib. And then I was trying to film,” she told Page Six earlier this week. “And I just was like, ‘It’s too much. Like, what’s going on? Why? What’s the message, God?’”

Comparing the “Get Off Your Acid” author’s approach with her to the way Gov. Andrew Cuomo has led the state of New York during the coronavirus pandemic, she explained, “He acted like this stabilizer for me. So when I would start to unravel or feel like it was too much, he kind of reigned me back in with a sort of like correctness, a calmness and then a direction.”

Medley also said Gioffre has helped her become more open with her feelings.

“I’m not very good at feeling vulnerable,” she told us, adding that she grew up thinking vulnerability means weakness. “He helped me bridge out if it, that it’s OK to just say you’re not coping well right now.

Medley now sees Gioffre every week to work through her stress and emotions and gets her blood tested every six weeks to monitor her alkaline diet, which aims to cut out acidic foods like sugar, dairy, gluten, excess animal proteins and processed foods to alleviate inflammation in the body.

“I had to just commit to it and I had to keep it out on my counter and say, ‘That’s it. This is just part of my life, like brushing my teeth,’” she said.

Gioffre gushed to Page Six of the “RHONY” star, “Dorinda never stops. She always wants to be better. I think that’s what I love most about Dorinda. The name of her game is about progress, progress, progress. She just started adding all these healthy things and what we realized is that it’s not just about adding the right things to eat and better things to drink and green juices, which we did. But it’s also about the psychology.”

Medley’s ongoing endorsement of Gioffre even rubbed off on castmates Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer, who she says have also met with him.
