Scheana Shay felt ‘vindicated’ and ‘frustrated’ after editor revealed vendetta against her

Justice has been served.

After weeks of a viral #JusticeForScheana campaign on social media, Scheana Shay finally responded to “Vanderpump Rules” editor Bri Dellinger admitting on a podcast that she purposely gave her bad edits on the show for not befriending her.

“I definitely like felt, like, you know, like vindicated because, I’m like, ‘OK, I’m not crazy. I’m not crazy,’” Shay, 35, said on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast. “I’m the first person to say, ‘You know, if I’ve said it, I’ve said it. I did it.’ Like, this is what I signed up to do. But it was just, it was frustrating when there are so many things that I watched and I’m just like, ‘Ugh, it wasn’t like that.’”

But the reality star explained that she didn’t speak up more often about certain scenes — like her conversations with Brett Caprioni — being edited in different ways because she didn’t want to get more backlash when the show’s season was airing, adding: “I don’t even really need to say anything because everyone sees it and everyone’s saying it for me.” The season at SUR is now wrapped, with a virtual reunion airing on Tuesday.

She also thanked her boyfriend, Brock Davies, for keeping her in check when the podcast was first uncovered earlier this month. While Shay’s first instinct was to go to social media to rant about her frustrations, the rugby player encouraged her to take a step back.

“We got in a huge fight that morning,” she said. “But I’m so thankful because he was like, ‘Why are you gonna do that? What good is that going to do? You’re just gonna piss off more people. It’s not going to change anything like, how about you just don’t go to social media?’”

“I was like, ‘No!’” she continued. “I was so frustrated. But then I was just like calm down, smoke some weed, get in your rational brain. And I’m like, that is not going to do me any favors. That’s just going to piss off people. And you’re right. Like, you know, she said her peace, but I don’t even need to comment on it because she literally spelled it all out.”

Page Six previously reported that Dellinger made it clear that she went out of her way to manipulate footage to embarrass Shay, while giving Stassi Schroeder and Beau Clark great edits at the request of Bravo. Shay confessed on the podcast that she was envious of the soon-to-be-wed couple.

“I think I’m one of the few OGs left on this show, who personal feelings aside, I know that this is a show about Lisa Vanderpump and her restaurants and yes, our lives outside of it,” she said. “But at the end of the day, the show is called ‘Vanderpump Rules.’ The show is always going to be based at SUR. Maybe it spins off to other ones one day. But for now, this is the show and this is my job and I take my job seriously. So if that means that my job is to bridge the new cast with the old cast and to show up at SUR, you know, several times a week, then that’s my job. And as bitter as I was, I was just like, well, this is my job. Stassi gets to be a celebrity on our show. That’s her job. Am I jealous of that too? Totally. Like I wish we were all treated evenly.”

She quipped, “She got to have her podcast, her clothing line, her New York Times bestseller book, her like — she gets to literally live her real life on our show where I’m not really a full-time waitress. Spoiler alert.”

Shay is looking forward to the future now that the Dellinger drama is behind her. However, her future may not play out on the show.

A source previously told Page Six: “This situation has forced many of the cast members to reassess what their futures on ‘Vanderpump Rules’ might look like. Bri made it clear that Bravo is only interested in the Stassi and Beau show, which is fine, but that’s not the same show that Tom, Jax, Katie, Kristen and Scheana signed up for. They’re all hoping to get some guidance from Bravo sooner than later and simply firing the editor who blew the whistle on these issues will not suffice.”
