The “Slide Away” singer, 27, debuted a super short version of her mullet on Tuesday, channeling Debbie Harry.
Cyrus posted inspiration photos of the Blondie singer on her Instagram Story, while famed hairstylist Sally Hershberger revealed that she coached the star’s mother Tish every step of the way via FaceTime.
“I trained Tish well!,” Hershberger said with a wink.
Hershberger chopped Cyrus’ platinum hair into a “modern mullet” in January, which was later hilariously compared to “Tiger King” Joe Exotic.
“[Miley’s] never going to do what everyone else does; she’s going to set trends,” Hershberger told Page Six Style at the time.
Cyrus later revealed that the new look was a precursor to her new, edgier music, which she put on hold during the coronavirus pandemic to focus on her Instagram talk show, “Bright Minded.”
The singer is somewhat of a hairdressing whiz herself; she buzzed off boyfriend Cody Simpson’s blond locks in April, and later practiced her makeup skills by giving the poet a full face of lipstick, mascara and eyeshadow.
