Put the scissors down.

Celebrity hairstylist Scotty Cunha — known for working with the entire Kardashian family along with Sofia Richie, Nicole Richie, Miley Cyrus, Lucy Hale and more — warns against chopping your own locks at home during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Don’t cut your hair! You’re going to have more anxiety,” he told Page Six Style. “Leave your haircut alone.”

Instead, Cunha recommends using a hair mask; he recently launched his own line, Rosé Rescue, with a silk-infused, sulfate- and paraben-free treatment that doubles as a leave-in conditioner and retails for $20.

“My friends and clients work out almost every day, so I wanted them to be able to condition their hair while they are throwing it up in a bun anyway,” he explained.

If people pamper their strands while in quarantine and avoid the shears, Cunha added, they’ll emerge post-pandemic with “fresh, soft, healthy hair.”

As for camouflaging those roots? Like celebrity colorist Michael Canalé, Cunha recommends Color Wow Root Cover-Up ($34.50) “for all your Zoom parties” if you’re in a rush. He’s also a fan of Madison Reed‘s at-home hair color products.

And while his own brand launched just before COVID-19 took hold of the country, the stylist points out that its first product is perfect for those giving their hair a break from heat styling and damage while staying home — and revealed that he has more on the way.

“Rosé Rescue is all about the option of getting ready to go out or staying in for the night and being ‘rescued,’” Cunha said. “Eye masks and face masks are a huge part of my beauty routine and I am obsessed with sun care, so creating a SPF product for hair and face will be essential.”
