Answer: This morning show co-host recently said it would be fun to be next host of “Jeopardy!” Question: Who is George Stephanopoulos?

During an interview on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show on Wednesday, 59-year-old Stephanopoulos admitted he’s not against becoming host of the longtime game show if Alex Trebek, who’s currently battling pancreatic cancer, were to step down.

“The first thing I said was ‘George Stephanopoulos’ and everyone went, ‘That ain’t crazy,”’ Stern told the former Democratic advisor and “Good Morning America” co-host. “You’ve got the intellectual capacity.”

Stephanopoulos, a Rhodes scholar, didn’t jump at the comment, but also didn’t shut down the idea either.

“I think it would be a lot of fun, but I like what I’m doing too,” he responded. “I am not going to be Shermanesque about it. It’s a great show … It’s very flattering. Big shoes to fill.”

He also admitted that he watches and plays along with his two daughters and wife Ali Wentworth at home, adding they were thrilled by Stern’s suggestion.

Stern commented, “It’s a show that wouldn’t damage your reputation. There is a certain gravitas. It’s for brighter people. It would make you look good.”
