Actor Jake Gyllenhaal posted a video on Friday of him singing a song entitled “Across the Way” as part of a monologue series.

The four-and-a-half minute song was written especially for Gyllenhaal by the composer of the Tony Award-winning musical “Fun Home,” Jeanine Tesori, and playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Gyllenhaal singing lyrics such as ” Day 32, I washed my hands, you made a cornish hen / Day 36 you sewed a mask, I washed my hands again.”

The series, which was launched in mid-March, consists of seven rounds of original songs that were written, produced and recorded within a 24-hour time limit and feature real-life stories of those who have been affected by the virus.

Other notable participants include Sienna Miller, Patrick Wilson and Rita Wilson.

One comment described the song as “a love song in the age of quarantine.”
