Wahlburger and Del Frisco’s are working together to feed healthcare workers and first responders in the Five Boroughs, we’re told.
The Boston-based burger chain — run by Wahlberg brothers, Mark, Donnie and Paul — has been shipping its patties to the Midtown steak house to be cooked up, and New York’s Bravest have been helping to deliver the meals. “They wanted to honor the hospital workers and first responders,” Gerard Fitzgerald, president of the Uniformed Firefighters Association, told Page Six.
“We’re somewhat used to getting accolades, so it was nice to help champion for someone else and give them the credit they deserve.” The meal deliveries started in Manhattan last week and end in Staten Island on Monday. “Not being able [to have our restaurants] fully operational these past several weeks has been heartbreaking for our entire organization,” Mark said in a statement, “But that hasn’t stopped our commitment to supporting the communities we serve however we can.”
