Home learning has been an adjustment for Gabrielle Union and husband Dwyane Wade.
Appearing Wednesday on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Union spoke about quarantine life, revealing that Wade’s 12-year-old daughter, Zaya, isn’t seeking their services when it comes to checking her homework.
“Home school is happening,” Union said. “Zaya does not trust us to even look [at her schoolwork]. She’s like, ‘I’ll wait for my tutors.’”
The 47-year-old actress also joked that her math skills aren’t up to par.
“Somebody said, ‘How are you on the new math?’ I’m like, ‘I wasn’t solid on the old math,’” Union quipped.

The “Being Mary Jane” star added that that couple’s 1-year-old daughter, Kaavia, is also keeping busy.
“Kaav is addicted to [the animated series] ‘Dave and Ava’ and ‘Word Party.’ Today she said ‘purple’ so I think we’re making headway,” Union noted.
While the mother-daughter duo may not be hitting the books together, Union and Zaya have shared snippets from their fun at home on Instagram, including dance parties.
In February, Wade spoke about Zaya’s journey, confirming his daughter is transgender during an appearance on “Ellen.” A month later, Union joined Wade, 38, for Zaya’s red carpet debut.
“Everyone allow her to re-introduce herself her name is Zaya Wade! [Saturday] night was Zaya’s first red carpet and we couldn’t have been prouder of how she handled the questions that were asked of her. She has emerged as one of the young faces and voices for the LGBTQ+ community. #truthawards,” Wade posted to Instagram at the time.
Wade and Union have been married since 2014, and welcomed Kaavia via surrogate four years later. The former NBA star also has three children, including Zaya, from previous relationships.
