Former first lady Michelle Obama is much more at ease since she’s moved out of the White House, her daughters said in their first public interview.
Malia and Sasha Obama, who are both now in college, gave unprecedented access to Netflix in their mom’s upcoming documentary, “Becoming,” Oprah Magazine reported.
Malia, 21, reflected on her mother’s life since the family moved out of the White House in January 2017.
Her mom is “no longer facing that same scrutiny,” Malia said. “Being able to let all of that leave your mind, creates so much more space.”
Meanwhile, Sasha, 18, told the outlet she’s “excited for her to be proud of what she’s done.”
She added: “I think that that’s the most important thing for a human to do, is be proud of themselves.”
The documentary, which is based on the former first lady’s bestselling memoir of the same name, is due out on May 6.
