The 2020 Met Gala may have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, but that didn’t stop celebrities from getting glammed up at home.

Julia Roberts took to Instagram on Monday to share a playful photo of herself posing above a bubble bath in a black and white strapless tiered ballgown. “Here’s me…not going to the Met Ball tonight. #stayhome #yesyoustillhavetostayhome,” the 52-year-old Oscar winner captioned the stylish shot.

Rita Wilson shared the details of her own outfit for the evening, commenting, “My Met Ball outfit this year is a lovely sweat suit with divine fuzzy slippers.”

Priyanka Chopra, meanwhile, let her niece Krishna Sky give her a glamorous makeover at home, posting pictures of herself in a denim dress accessorized with a sparkling tiara. “First Monday in May. This year’s theme: Pretty Pretty Princess,” she wrote.

And Amanda Seyfried donned a dramatic blue floral gown while posing in a chicken coop, captioning the resulting snaps, “What I would’ve tried to wear to the Met Gala this year.”

Meanwhile, Katy Perry showed off a custom Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra and corset that she would have worn over her baby bump to channel Madonna for the “About Time: Fashion and Duration”-themed event.

Still other stars took a stab at the #MetGalaChallenge, with Mindy Kaling recreating Jared Leto’s unforgettable red carpet look from 2019 (complete with life-sized head replica) and Adam Rippon channeling Rihanna in her iconic yellow Guo Pei couture from 2015.

And numerous A-listers simply took to the opportunity to share throwback photos from Met Balls past — among them Kendall Jenner, Hailey Baldwin, Naomi Campbell and Derek Blasberg.
