Country star Dwight Yoakam, 63, married his longtime love Emily Joyce in a private, social-distanced ceremony in Santa Monica, Calif., in March, according to a post on the singer’s Instagram, written by his team.

The pair, who started dating in 2010 and have been engaged for several years, wed at the St. Monica Catholic Church “in March just prior to the quarantine in a private ceremony.”

“The less than ten attendees were seated at least six feet from one another,” the post continued, accompanied by pictures of the happy couple, with Yoakam still clad in his trademark hat. According to the posting, the pair held off on announcing the union “out of respect to so many people affected by and on the front lines of this pandemic.”

“At a time when there is so much uncertainty in the world, there are still happy moments. In the face of shutdowns and social-distancing requirements, love prevailed,” it read.

Despite being one of the biggest stars in the world of country music, with over 25 million albums sold, the “Guitars, Cadillacs” singer has remained notoriously tight-lipped about his romantic life, though his known exes include Sharon Stone.
