Kate Middleton captured a colorful moment from son Prince Louis to celebrate the royal’s 2nd birthday.
Kensington Palace unveiled a series of new portraits featuring Prince William and Kate’s youngest child — whose birthday is Thursday, April 23 — with rainbow paint on his hands, making artwork. Rainbows have come to symbolize hope amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Kate, 38, took the photographs earlier this month.
Kensington Palace later thanked fans and followers Thursday for Louis’ birthday wishes, sharing additional images with the caption: ” Instagram vs Reality.” Princess Eugenie, the daughter of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, replied with a heart-shaped emoji.
William, 37, and Kate — also parents to 6-year-old son Prince George and 4-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte — have been staying in Norfolk amid global health crisis. Despite the circumstances, the Cambridges have been keeping in touch with fellow royals via video calls.
“We have been making sure we share in on birthday calls and things like that just to make sure we keep in touch with each other,” Kate said earlier this month to BBC.
Queen Elizabeth II also celebrated her birthday this week, turning 94 on Tuesday.
