If you’ve been using “The Office” as a comfort watch during the coronavirus lockdown, good news — now you can hang out with the cast.
On Wednesday, several cast members announced that they have partnered with Omaze, a fund-raising organization, to benefit the Variety Boys & Girls Club, which provides struggling families with meals, supplies and activities during the pandemic.
They will have a virtual “coffee date” with the winner of the Omaze drawing that involves sharing “awesome behind-the-scenes stories” from the set of the hit NBC sitcom, which ran from 2005-2013 but has enjoyed a long second wave of popularity, thanks to Netflix and memes.
In fact, it caused a wave of controversy when it was announced it’s leaving Netflix this year, as NBCUniversal is taking back the rights, and it’s expected to land in 2021 on NBC’s streaming service, Peacock, which is launching in July.
The actors involved in the charity hangout will be Oscar Nuñez (who played Oscar), Creed Bratton (who played a fictional version of himself, Creed Bratton), Kate Flannery (who played Meredith) and Melora Hardin (who played Jan).
“We’re going to have so much fun,” Bratton says in the announcement video. “We’ll get to know each other, talk about the show, I’ll get your credit card information, stuff like that. And I’ll tell you some juicy, behind-the-scenes gossip.”

This isn’t the first mini-reunion of “The Office” spurred by the COVID-19 crisis.
Co-star John Krasinski recently premiered “Some Good News” on YouTube, a show dedicated to sharing positive stories during the coronavirus pandemic. To the delight of the sitcom’s diehard fans, he invited former co-star Steve Carell to join him for the show’s first installment.
“I guarantee you that the bottom half of what you have on does not match the top,” joked Carell, insinuating that host Krasinski may not be wearing suit trousers.
