Hollywood hitmaker David Foster is promoting music education during the coronavirus pandemic after he was contacted by a Brooklyn teacher.

“I was actually contacted by a music teacher from a school in Brooklyn,” said Foster.” “Will Mosley from PS 149, saying that his music students are stuck at home without musical instruments and could I give some words of encouragement so that they are not discouraged.”

As a result, Foster’s teamed with the New York Philharmonic and fellow composer Karen LeFrak to introduce a family-friendly concert broadcast on Monday of LeFrak’s “Sleepover at the Museum,” based on LeFrak’s 2019 kids book.

Meantime, Foster’s released an album of solo piano music, “Eleven Words,” earlier than planned. (One critic called it “the medicine we all need during these stressful times.”)

“I wrote these simple piano pieces six months ago, obviously not knowing what the world would be going through,” he said. “I played some on Instagram, and folks asked for the to be available now in order to help them though this trying time.”

He and wife Katharine McPhee also launched the comedic “Kat & Dave Show” on social media as “a fun distraction to people” in isolation.
