It seems like there’s no ill will between Jennifer Aniston and her ex, John Mayer.
The “Friends” alum left a cute remark on Mayer’s social media account after the Grammy Award-winning artist cracked a joke about himself on the platform.
While sharing his memories about the late soul singer Bill Withers on his “Current Mood” Instagram Live series, Mayer, 42, told followers, “Whether he was speaking to you or speaking to an interviewer 15 years ago, 14, 13 years ago, everything he said is useful. Four percent of the things that I say are useful. One hundred percent of the things he said were useful.”
Aniston, 51, left three crying-laughing emojis about the self-deprecating comment which were caught by an eagle-eyed fan.
The pair dated off-and-on from February 2008 to March 2009.
After their split, Mayer gave an interview to Playboy where he seemed to imply that the couple’s eight-year age difference played a factor in their breakup.
‘I’ll always be sorry that it didn’t last,” he said at the time. “In some ways, I wish I could be with her. But I can’t change the fact that I need to be 32.”
Aniston was a little more sanguine when discussing their split.
“We care about each other. It’s funny when you hit a place in a relationship and you both realize, we maybe need to do something else, but you still really, really love each other. It’s painful,” she told Vogue.
“There was no malicious intent,” she continued. “I deeply, deeply care about him; we talk, we adore one another. And that’s where it is.”
The “Morning Show” star seems to stay friendly with her exes. Her ex-husband Brad Pitt attended Aniston’s 50th birthday party last year (Mayer was there, too) and she and Justin Theroux have left sweet comments on each other’s social media accounts.
