So many stressed-out quarantined people logged on for a live-streamed healing meditation with Deepak Chopra, the host website crashed.

While a million people were anticipated to join the session, after more than 200,000 people initially clicked onto the global event hosted by Chopra and New York-based health and wellness center The Well at noon on Sunday, the Vimeo-hosted site crashed.

Chopra, 73, who led the meditation by live link from California, quickly moved over to Facebook Live to continue the session, intended to set “collective energy toward healing the world at a time when we need it most.” However the technical setback left him with fewer followers.

The spiritual guru opened the session by saying, “We were soon going to start a global live meditation for healing and transformation amidst this global pandemic of the coronavirus…but the Vimeo site crashed.

“We were hoping for a million people, and indeed we think we had them…so I am taking this opportunity to speak to you all on Facebook Live.”

He went on to say, “In the great wisdom traditions of the east, and also the west, it is said that every crisis has a creative solution and every adversity contains the seed of a creative opportunity, so let’s go with that.”

Video of the live meditation has since posted to the-well.com/stayhome and Chopra’s YouTube.

Vimeo CEO Anjali Sud did not respond to a request for comment from USA GAG.
