The “Motherless Brooklyn” actor, 61, and his wife, 36, filled in for Ellen DeGeneres on her daytime talk show and opened up about the early days of their courtship.
“Do you guys know that he shook my hand for six weeks and didn’t kiss me when we met?” Hilaria asked the audience.
“You shouldn’t tell them that!” Alec responded.
“He would tell me all these things, like ‘I’m going to marry you. I’m going to spend the rest of my life with you. We’re going to have a ton of kids,’ and then he would shake my hand at the end of the night,” Hilaria recalled.
The couple now shares four children: daughter Carmen and sons Leonardo, Rafael and Romeo.
“Hey, look, it worked!” Hilaria, who suffered two miscarriages last year, noted.
The couple also answered questions from the audience, and one attendee asked how they find time to have sex with so many kids in the house.
“You just gotta find time, and you have to make it a priority because people have needs,” Hilaria quipped.
