HBO has announced that the 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony has been rescheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7.

The ceremony, which had been scheduled for May 2, was postponed March 13 due to the coronavirus pandemic. “The health and safety of our fans and visitors is our highest priority,” the hall told CNN at the time. “Given recent news regarding coronavirus and the urging by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine regarding large public gatherings, we have made the decision to postpone the 2020 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Induction Week festivities until later this year.”

It will mark the first time the event, broadcast from the Public Auditorium in Cleveland, Ohio, is aired live on the network. This 35th annual event’s inductees include Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G. and T. Rex. In addition, producer Jon Landau and manager Irving Azoff will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award, which honors “songwriters, producers, disc jockeys, record executives, journalists and other industry professionals who have had a major influence on rock & roll.”

The spread of COVID-19 has led to significant shifts in the entertainment industry, with concert tours, Broadway shows, movie premieres and film and television production either canceled or postponed.
