Idris Elba‘s wife has revealed that she also has coronavirus.

“I’ve been tested — actually, I found out this morning, Oprah, that I tested positive,” Sabrina Dhowre told Oprah Winfrey on Saturday as she sat alongside her husband for a video chat from their quarantine in New Mexico.

Dhowre, 31, insisted she was “not surprised” — and never questioned staying with the “Luther” star after his confirmed infection.

“I wanted to be with him. That’s the instinct of a wife. You want to go and take care,” she told Winfrey for her new series for Apple TV+, “Oprah Talks,” posted early Sunday.

“I could have made a decision to maybe put myself in a separate room or stay away and I’m sure that people are making those tough decisions. But I made the decision to want to be with him … and still touch him,” she said, chuckling as she nudged his shoulder.

Elba — who has hinted that he got contaminated the day he was at an event with the infected wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau — stressed that his wife may well have already been infected by the time his positive result came back, too.

“If I’d caught it, she’d certainly caught it as well,” he said.

Dhowre called it “worrisome” that they were both confirmed infected but with neither showing any symptoms.

As well as spending more time together, Dhowre also has the added joy of her husband taking up the guitar and serenading her.

“You know what? He’s not bad. I don’t mind him playing it. It’s kind of romantic,” Dhowre said.

Winfrey called the pandemic “a moment for our humanity to either rise or not.”
