Patrick Brown, the younger brother of “Bachelorette” star Hannah Brown, revealed this week that he recently overdosed.
“As some people know On March 1st I overdosed, I ended up spending 2 days on a ventilator and I am so grateful to be here to share this with everyone,” Brown began on Instagram. “I am not posting this for pity or what not but to thank everyone who has checked up on me.”
In his post, Patrick geotagged Soba Recovery: Texas, a drug and alcohol treatment facility located in San Antonio.
“Y’all are the reason I fully intend to take my story and share it to hopefully save another loved ones to not have to go through waiting by the bedside hoping they wake up,” Patrick wrote, adding, “rather then being mad at myself for this I am thankful this happened.”

He continued, “Things like this don’t happen suddenly, it happens in the dark and slowly. Sometimes all it takes is a simple text or phone call to show someone you care.”
Patrick said that he’s leaned on his faith during this difficult time, and plans to make the most of his “second chance.”
Hannah, 25, posted a sweet message to her sibling March 5 on Instagram, but hasn’t publicly commented on his overdose.
“You’re my favorite brother. I love you—don’t forget it,” the “Dancing with the Stars” champ captioned a collection of photos at the time.
Hannah has been a source of support for several men in her life as of late, including ex Tyler Cameron, who recently lost his mother Andrea. She has been spending time in Florida with the former “Bachelorette” front-runner, 27, amid the coronavirus outbreak.
