iPhone 12: To reduce its ecological footprint, Apple will no longer provide the mains charger

Specifically, for the purchase of an iPhone (even older models), you will no longer have a supplied mains charger, only the simple charging cable and a pair of wired headphones.

On Tuesday, during the keynote presentation of its new smartphones, Apple took the opportunity to announce its new policy: no longer providing an AC adapter when purchasing an iPhone. This rule is valid for the purchase of iPhone 12 and 12 Pro but also for the purchase of old models like the iPhone XR, the iPhone 11, but also the recent iPhone SE.

“As part of our efforts to meet our environmental goals, iPhone 11 now ships without an AC adapter. Please use the Apple AC adapter you already have or buy one separately, ”reads the data sheet for the model released in 2019.

On the other hand, iPhones sold in France still come with wired headphones and a USB-C to Lightning cable.

In addition, Apple announced to lower the price of the wall outlet, which goes from 40 to 20 $, specifies BFMTV.
