Justin Timberlake has no regrets about the iconic denim looks he and Britney Spears wore to the 2001 American Music Awards.

The “Cry Me a River” singer, 39, appeared on former NSYNC band member Lance Bass’ podcast to discuss the matchy-matchy moment, which he insisted would still be considered stylish in 2020.

“You can kinda rock that one today,” Timberlake said, per E! News — a valid argument, considering pop culture’s current obsession with cowboy hats, Western boots and other aspects of so-called “yeehaw couture.”

As for why the pop star agreed to don all that denim in the first place? “You do a lot of things when you’re young and in love,” he quipped.

Despite standing by those matching blues, Timberlake does have some regrets when it comes to his hairstyles from over he years, which have included cornrows, bleached-blond curls, bandanas and more.

While perhaps polarizing, Timberlake and Spears’ matching denim ensembles have inspired countless tributes; Katy Perry and Riff Raff rocked matching Versace looks to the 2014 MTV VMAs, and YouTube stars Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau dressed up as the couple for Halloween in 2019.
