What is the difference between the Praxis 1 and 5733?
Praxis Core Math is part of the core academic skills and focuses on data literacy. In August of 2020, the Praxis 1 and Praxis Core Math 5732 were phased out and the Praxis Core Math 5733 was established. The new test places more emphasis on probability and statistics. The test covers three sections: Algebra and Geometry.
Do I need to pass the Praxis core math test 5733?
Some states require all prospective teachers, regardless of the subject area, to pass the Praxis Core Test, including Praxis Core Math Test 5733 (5733 is the test code for the Praxis Core Math Test; keep in mind that this is different than a Praxis math subject test or one of other Praxis Core tests).

Praxis®️ Core: Mathematics Update – What’s New With 5733? If you haven’t already heard, Praxis®️ released a new Praxis®️ Core: Mathematics test in September 2019. This updated exam has a few specific changes from the previous version, Praxis®️ Core: Mathematics 5732.
What is the difference between the 5732 and 5733 exams?
Well, in the 5732 version of the exam, Statistics and Probability made up 20% of the question, but in 5733 that and the new Data Interpretations and Representation will be 32% of the content. This means an increase from approximately 11 questions to 18 questions in the new exam.
