Ivanka Trump returned to work at the White House Friday as senior adviser for president Trump after testing negative for the coronavirus.

Ivanka Trump had been working from home since last Friday, after an Australian official she met with earlier in March subsequently tested positive for COVID-19. She did not show symptoms for the virus but was tested last week.

“Over the last week, Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump has followed social distancing best practices at her home,” a senior administration official said Friday. “At the advisement of her doctors, due to lack of symptoms and consistently healthy physician checks, Advisor Trump will be working from the White House today.”

“As is done with every employee at the White House, she will undergo the same health/temperature checks to maintain the safety of herself, her children and those in the White House,” the senior administration official said.

Ivanka Trump was spotted in the White House briefing room on Friday as the president convened a news conference on the administration’s response efforts amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The president’s daughter and senior adviser is also expected to participate in a phone call between the president and small business owners at the White House later Friday afternoon.

The White House said last Friday that Ivanka Trump elected to work from home out of an abundance of caution after Australian home minister Peter Dutton disclosed he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Ivanka Trump and other Trump administration officials met with Dutton during his visit to Washington, D.C., on March 5, two weeks ago. She was tested late last week for the virus and received the results on Friday.
