Clinton, who is now 42, became famous when she moved to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with her father, former President Bill Clinton, and mother, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, when she was 13 years old.

Clinton said in an interview with Variety, where she is one of the Power of Women issue's cover stars, that she couldn't remember a time when she wasn't in the political spotlight and that she wants to protect her children from the same things.

"Sometimes I really wanted to fade into the background because I didn't want as many people looking at me or as many bright lights glaring at me," she said in an interview with her mother, Hillary, who is also on the front cover.

Clinton was afraid of being made fun of, she said.

"Thank goodness, I don't feel that fear anymore. As a child, I didn't feel fear because if I had, I would have been afraid all the time. "When I think about how to raise brave, strong kids, I try to think more about what I want to learn from my own childhood rather than how I reacted to it," she said.

"I feel such a strong sense of duty because I wish more people had spoken up in public for me."

Even though she and Trump had different political views, Clinton stood up for former President Donald Trump's teenage son Barron when he was attacked by the media.

She said that she tries to keep her three children, Charlotte, 8, Aidan, 6, and Jasper, 3, out of the spotlight.

“One thing that Chelsea has done repeatedly is to tell people to back off from kids,” Hillary Clinton told the magazine. “She’s been so consistent, and I really respect that.”

Clinton and her mother have started a new Apple TV+ show called "Gutsy." It is based on their 2019 best-selling book "Book of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience."

The show follows a mother and daughter as they sit down with different female artists and activists, like Kim Kardashian, and talk with them. Their production company, HiddenLight, is in charge of making the show.
