The Buccaneers and Chargers were the finalists for Tom Brady after he split from the Patriots. Where did the other teams that were reportedly interested in the six-time Super Bowl champ finish, though?

The Raiders and Colts were involved and had been two teams prominently mentioned in the active rumor mill this offseason.

NBC Sports reported that Brady’s camp thought Indianapolis and its strong offensive line could be a fit, but the Colts looked to be setting their sights on a shorter deal with Philip Rivers. The Colts agreed to deal with Rivers on a one-year, $25 million contract early Tuesday afternoon.

Around that same time, talks had progressed to the point with Brady’s agent, Don Yee, and the Buccaneers that the two sides had the framework of a contract in place.

The Raiders were also in play, according to The Athletic. An offer was never presented to Brady or his agent, but there were numbers tossed around.

Ultimately, the Raiders didn’t want to commit to paying Brady what he received from Tampa Bay, a guaranteed two-year, $50 million deal. What they saw of Brady on film the last two years didn’t warrant that kind of financial commitment. Had the Raiders thought they were a serious suitor, they would’ve began shopping starter Derek Carr. Instead, they signed Marcus Mariota to back up Carr for the team’s first season in Las Vegas.
