        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Soon, Washington will wish speculation was its biggest issue.</p><p>Team officials of the franchise formerly known as the Redskins are &#8220;highly upset/frustrated&#8221; over the increasing number of cryptic tweets and stories <strong>preparing the public for an imminent bombshell</strong> from the Washington Post, exposing the organization&#8217;s troublesome past &#8220;culture,&#8221; <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1283798174583398402?s=20" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">according to ESPN&#8217;s Adam Schefter</a>. In preparation for the report expected to be released this week, Washington has hired attorney Beth Wilkinson to &#8220;review the organization&#8217;s protocols,&#8221; Schefter said.</p><p>Wilkinson confirmed to NPR that she was brought in by the team.</p><p>&#8220;We can confirm that our firm was retained by the team to do an independent review of the team’s culture, policies and allegations of workplace misconduct,&#8221; <a href="https://twitter.com/JWPascale/status/1283813311243522048">Wilkinson wrote.</a></p><p>The team, which officially announced Monday it <strong>will retire its longtime racist nickname</strong>, also recently saw numerous personnel shake-ups, with front office members Richard Mann III and Alex Santos departing, as well as longtime radio play-by-play announcer Larry Michael.</p><p>Previously, Julie Donaldson of NBC Sports Washington wrote that the contents of the soon-to-be-released Washington Post story are &#8220;disappointing and sad.&#8221; Former team beat writer Jason La Canfora suggested it will be even worse than that.</p><p>“The warped and toxic culture of the Washington Football Team is about to be exposed in a sickening fashion . . .
