“That’s kind of like defined my summer for the last 10 years, nine years. I’m like Peter from ‘Vanderpump Rules,’” Madrigal, 36, recently told Page Six while promoting his new Celebrity Slots app.

Production for Season 9 of the show — which usually films in the summertime — has been put on hold amid the coronavirus outbreak as SUR, the restaurant where Madrigal has worked for the past 12 years, is closed and Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni have all been fired following resurfaced racist behavior.

Madrigal told us that when the cameras start rolling again, he wouldn’t mind sharing more of his personal life. “My dating life like before the quarantine was like this, up and down, left and right, you know? And now with the quarantine … it is dead.”

On Sunday, Madrigal celebrated his birthday, which often coincides with Los Angeles’ Pride celebrations, an event that is often filmed for the series. He found it bittersweet.

“My birthday is always on TV … and now all of a sudden, I don’t even know what I’m doing for my birthday because it’s usually just like, ‘Okay, Peter, we’re going to have your birthday party here and this is where you have to go and have fun.’ I’m like, ‘Okay, cool,’” he said.

“This year, for instance, would be the first time since, like, Season 4 where I would be working Pride for my birthday,” he added. “The best part of the day was getting cake shoved in my face. I think they got that, they put that on the show. But on top of all that, I worked the entire day … I worked a double on my birthday that day.”

While he waits to hear what’s next for the show, Madrigal is focused on his app which includes games from Jonathan Cheban, Joe and Melissa Gorga and Natalie Eva Marie among others.

He also hopes that SUR will be able to reopen next month, telling us, “I miss it! Are you kidding me? I enjoy it. It is a lot of fun. SUR is one of my favorite places in the world.”
