Pre-pandemic 1.4 million packed up their accents and moved out. Post-pandemic 420,000 exited. So, they’ll find a bagel and shmear where? Iowa? Kosher hot dogs, Halal street food, designer pasta is not where the corn is as high as an elephant’s eye.

Says real estate’s Bill Rudin of Rudin Management: “We see commercial leasing activity. Like 170,000 square feet on one Park Avenue office. Another took an old-time Sixth Avenue address. Liberty Street downtown got a half-a-million dollar lease. A bank’s 250,000 feet in 52nd’s Equitable Building. With Phase 4, clients now tour properties. Deals reignite. Apartment activity increases come fall when people return.

He wants Moore

Michael Moore wants a bailout for his canceled Traverse City Film Festival, which is in some resort town in some chunk of wherever northern Michigan is. Begun in 2005, the thing would’ve been last week. E-mailing supporters, he says he’s out a million bucks and needs donations. Moore lives part of the year in this whoknowswhere place and runs two now-closed movie theaters.

Maybe he’ll make a movie about it.

After mucho arithmetic just dethroned Spain’s longtime King Juan Carlos in favor of his son, the new King Felipe, one New Yorker — whose mouth is larger than his apartment — reports:
