Bouncing back from what star Megan Rapinoe described as “getting our asses kicked” Wednesday in a 3-0 loss to Sweden, the top-ranked Americans easily dispatched New Zealand, 6-1, on Saturday in their second match at the Olympics.

Four players scored for the USWNT – Rose Lavelle, Lindsey Horan, Christen Press and Alex Morgan – with the other two scores credited as own goals against New Zealand.

The result marked the team’s highest scoring output and margin of victory in any Olympic match

The loss to Sweden ended the Americans’ 44-match unbeaten streak, but Team USA can advance to the knockout round out of Group G with another win Tuesday  against Australia.
