"Let's say the picture of the ears is different. Like a fingerprint, each person has a unique ear picture. "It can't happen again," he said, according to a report from Ukrainian TV in Newsweek.



Budanov said that wasn't the only thing that was wrong.

"If you look closely, you can see that they have different habits, different mannerisms, different gaits, and sometimes even different heights," he said.

But Budanov's idea about the body doubles wasn't the first time that rumor had been spread.

In 2018, a Twitter user used three photos of Putin from different times to say that the former KGB spy was actually three different people. The International Business Times called this "one of the stranger conspiracy theories."

Budanov explained the supposed use of body doubles this week by saying that many people think the Russian leader is very sick.

But the head of the CIA and the head of MI6 in Britain recently cast doubt on those reports. They both said at the Aspen Security Forum last month that the Russian leader seems to be in good health.
