Trick-or-treat! The most outrageous celebrity Halloween costumes of all time are hard to beat — but that won’t stop these stars from continuously pushing the envelope.

Whether it’s Kylie Jenner dressed up as “Dirrty”-era Christina Aguilera or Demi Lovato channeling It‘s kid-eating clown Pennywise, these are the looks that are hard to ignore.

The craziest celeb costumes are often scary. Think: Tracee Ellis Ross dressing up as Lupita Nyong’o’s character in the 2019 horror movie Us or Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor Seth Green going as Chucky, everyone’s favorite murder doll.

However, they can also be sweet. Case in point: Beyoncé and Jay-Z slaying their Barbie and Ken ensemble.

Some of the most eye-catching celeb looks are the punny ones. Dakota Johnson’s suggestive 2015 costume combined Steve Jobs’ famous black turtleneck with a hairdryer — and we’ll let you figure out the rest.

Meanwhile, there are those Hollywood bigwigs who choose to dress up as other famous people. Chrissy Teigen once became Guy Fieri for a day — right down to the Flavortown founder’s bleached blonde spikes. Meanwhile, Kevin Hart hit another level with his 2019 homage to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and his legendary fanny pack.

Of course, it’s Heidi Klum who always understands the assignment. At her yearly bash, which has a strict “no costume, no entry policy,” the model consistently offers up fascinating fits that have ranged from grannies to apes to aliens.

“What I love the most [about Halloween] is for people to be able to escape and to transform into someone else,” the Project Runway alum told Vogue in 2020. “With makeup and a costume, you can be anyone and anything. That allows most people to be loose and have more fun.”

Not to be outdone is Katy Perry, whose past getups include a Flamin’ Hot Cheeto, a mic drop and Hillary Clinton. Her unwavering commitment to the holiday has made her one to watch every October 31st — and that’s by design.

“For Halloween, I definitely have a very topical costume,” the “Teenage Dream” singer said in October 2021. “I like to hit the summary of the year on the head, and it’s very goofy as I go … I always tend to lean weird.”
