        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Patrick Mahomes may have replaced Tom Brady as the premier quarterback in the NFL, and now he has taken over as the league’s top merchandise seller, too.</p><p>The Chiefs’ dynamic quarterback is No. 1 in “officially licensed player-identified merchandise, including jerseys, trading cards, wall decals, T-shirt and bobbleheads,” <strong>according to Variety</strong>, after Brady was at the top of the list the past three years.</p><p>Mahomes is coming off rallying Kansas City to the Super Bowl 2020 crown, one year after he threw 50 touchdown passes and was the league’s MVP. Brady, <strong>who departed New England for Tampa Bay in free agency</strong> last month, was second on the list.</p><p>They are followed by reigning MVP Lamar Jackson of the Ravens, Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott and Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. The enigmatic Mayfield had the highest-selling jersey in the 2019 preseason, according to <strong>Fanatics</strong>, and didn’t fall too far despite an uneven year.</p>]]></content:encoded>
