Tom Brady and Phil Mickelson will take on Aaron Rodgers and Bryson DeChambeau in Capital One’s “The Match” golf event, it was announced on Wednesday. Brady quickly let the trash talk fly with a hilarious set of memes that simultaneously mocked his two opponents.

DeChambeau’s feud with rival Brooks Koepka reached a new level this week when a leaked Golf Channel interview showed Koepka’s disdain for DeChambeau. In a series of tweets, Brady used the meme from that video to mock Rodgers for the Packers’ costly decision to kick a field goal in the NFC Championship Game against the Bucs.

It will be the fourth edition of the charity match at Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana on July 6. The competition format will be modified alternate shot match play.

The DeChambeau and Rodgers pairing is certainly an intriguing one. The bulked-up DeChambeau is one of the more fascinating players in the game with his long drives, scientific approach to the sport and growing feud with Koepka.

Rodgers is currently trying to force a trade off the Packers, and there is a possibility that controversy will still be ongoing when tee time arrives.

Mickelson, fresh off his historic 2021 PGA Championship win, said in a tweet on Monday that he and the Buccaneers quarterback are “ready to settle some unfinished business” at the event. Mickelson, who beat Tiger Woods straight up in the first iteration of the made-for-TV event, teamed up with Brady and lost to Woods and Peyton Manning last May.

Brady also joined in on the early trash-talk, tweeting at Mickelson, “two old guys against the young bucks,” referencing 27-year-old DeChambeau and Rodgers, who turns 38 this year.

The reigning Super Bowl MVP will celebrate his 44th birthday nearly one month after the celebrity quarterback-pro golfer crossover. Mickelson, meanwhile, will turn 51 ahead of the event in June.

In November, Mickelson joined forces with “Inside the NBA” co-host Charles Barkley in Capital One’s “The Match: Champions for Change,” and defeated Warriors star Steph Curry and NFL icon Peyton Manning.

The match will benefit Feeding America and additional charitable beneficiaries, and will broadcast live on TNT on July 6.
