The Denver-based company is trying hard to hire and keep Gen Z workers by offering a four-day work week.

Daniel del Olmo, president and chief operating officer of Sage Hotel Management, went on "Fox & Friends" on Wednesday to talk about how the new business model is meant to help people have a better work-life balance and keep Gen Zers on the payroll.

He said, "We've always thought it was important to be driven by a purpose."

"Our goal is to make people's lives better one experience at a time."

Del Olmo said that the company's way of thinking is the same for both guests and employees.

Sage has 6,000 employees all over the United States.

Employees hired to work the shorter week will get the same pay as those who work five days a week, and they will be able to choose how they spend the four days they work each week.

"You can take one day during the week to work on home repairs, and then take two days off and go to the Colorado mountains with your family," he said.

Sage Hospitality is advertising a four-day work week and letting employees bring their dogs to work.

"Dogs are just a great way to make our employees and guests feel good," he said.

"Sometimes, they even act as ambassadors, really welcoming guests to their new home as they travel."

Del Olmo said that the job's flexibility makes it "hugely attractive" to people of all ages who want to find a good balance between work and life.

"That leads to happy employees, which leads to happy customers," he said. "And that's a really meaningful thing to do."
