He told the group that he won $500 in his first week. In his seventh week, he got a Powerball ticket and won $100,000.

In a press release, the man said, "I didn't even know how to play Powerball."

The press release said that he bought the Powerball ticket at a Kwik Fill gas station in Hanahan, South Carolina.

When he first bought the ticket, he thought he had only matched two numbers. Then his wife looked and saw that there were more matching numbers—just one short of the jackpot drawing, according to the press release.

The press release said that because he spent an extra dollar on his ticket, he won a total of $100,000, which was double the original prize of $50,000.

The man bought a car with the money he won. And he's still going with his plan to make $25 a week.

He said, "I'm going to finish the three months."
