What happens in Dennis Rodman’s Chicago bachelor pad, stays in Dennis Rodman’s Chicago bachelor pad.

One of the more intriguing stories that came out of Sunday’s two-part installment of “The Last Dance” on ESPN was Michael Jordan retrieving Dennis Rodman from his Las Vegas vacation from the team. Most took it as Jordan actually flying to Nevada to bring Rodman back, however director Jason Hehir explained on Sunday night Jordan actually did not have to go far at all.

“He got him out of his apartment across from The United Center,” Hehir said. “His vacation, part of it was in Vegas, of course, but he got back and thought he was going to do a staycation in Chicago. So, that’s where Michael said alright, ‘I am going to walk across the street….Grabbed him by his nose ring and just took him out.”

The story was narrated in the documentary by Jordan and Carmen Electra, Rodman’s girlfriend during that 1997-’98 season. Jordan’s arrival sent Electra scurrying behind some furniture. As much as “The Last Dance” has revealed to basketball fans, what truly happened that day may never be fully known to the public.

“We had to go get his ass out of bed. I am not going to say what was in his bed or where he was,” Jordan said in his sitdown interview in the documentary.

ESPN NBA reporter Marc J. Spears added on Twitter: “Only way Jordan could tell the whole Rodman crib story on television is if there was an ESPN After Dark. It’s a good one. Been sworn to secrecy.”

Electra expanded a little further in an interview with the Los Angeles Times.

“I was hungover and we were naked on the floor,” she said. “Dennis gets up to answer, and there’s Michael Jordan! I got up and tried to hide. I knew Dennis was in trouble. That was a big deal and a shock to me.”

Rodman, whose unlikely rise to the NBA, dogged effort on the court and eccentric lifestyle was documented in episodes 3 and 4 of the 10-part series, did return to the team and the Bulls would go on to complete their second three-peat.
