The private Facebook group — which, as we’ve previously reported, once had to be temporarily closed because of a furore about a children’s book — has been put on ice after its users turned on its management accusing them of racism, and the administrators fighting back with what they later admitted were “unartful” comments.

“In the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests nationwide, the white admin of the group refused to add a Black moderator despite outcry from numerous members of the group that they wanted more representation,” a mole told us.

According to a leaked note to members, one of the group’s two administrators defended themselves saying, “As everyone knows, there are two admins: one [person of color]; one not. 50% of the admins are POC.”

The admin added that they’d “expressed my perspectives” on the matter. “At times, those comments may not have been artfully stated, and to the extent I have not already done so, I apologize to anyone who was offended or insulted by the manner in which I expressed my opinion,” they wrote.

We’re told the second admin is Latino — but has quit amid the uprising. Meanwhile, another mom said that the admins had “silenced” the 38,000 members by temporarily closing the group on June 1. “It’s wrong,” she said.
