TV must go on! The first wave of nominations for the 26th annual Critics’ Choice Awards was announced on Monday, January 18. The film nominees are set to be announced on Sunday, February 7, while the show will air on The CW on Sunday, March 7.

Streaming services dominated the nominations list, with Netflix earning 26 and HBO and HBO Max receiving 24 nods. FX was the next network to top the list with 14 nominations.

While the Emmys use a June through May season for eligibility, the Critics’ Choice Awards use the calendar year, meaning anything that aired in 2020 is up for discussion.

Netflix’s The Crown and Ozark topped the list, each receiving six nominations. HBO’s Lovecraft Country, Pop’s Schitt’s Creek, FX’s What We Do in the Shadows and FX’s Mrs. America all earned five nominations while AMC’s Better Call Saul and HBO’s The Plot Against America received four.
